In recent years Barcelona has been the place to be for the best New Years Eve parties - the options are vast from beach parties, street celebrations, clubbing and fine dining. At midnight to mark the end of 2012 and beginning of 2013 the church bells ring 12 times and with each chime you are supposed to eat a grape – at best on one of Barcelona's many places. This will bring you luck for the new year.
If you want to celebrate outside, you could go to Plaza Catalunya which is mostly crowded. People countdown and celebrate the beginning of the New Year and a lot of foreigners go here too. Alternatively, instead of checking out the fireworks Barcelona , you can check out Torre Agbar. This futuristic building will be lit with a special light show welcoming 2013.
