About the Festival: The Miami International Film Festival (MIFF) is an annual film festival in Miami, Florida, with a special focus on Ibero-American films. The Festival was started in 1983 by the Film Society of Miami. Control of the festival was assumed by Florida International University in 1999, and then by Miami-Dade College in late 2003.
The Festival runs for ten days in March. It specializes in international films, particularly from Latin America, and independent films, many of which are being shown for the first time in the United States.
